In many games, the goal of the game is to collect loot, as we can see in the many loot shooters that are on the market.
But this trend has been around for much longer and when I think of loot and collecting, I personally think of the Diablo or Borderlands series.
Lots of junk and lots of sorting was one of the central elements of employment here.
What is usable, what could I use and what can I directly disassemble or sell sensibly.
Here, the progress is mainly driven in the form of stronger armor and weapons or other things that bring you further in the fight and support.
Sounds in the first place not really like the approach in EvE or very limited.
In this dimension as in the upper two examples have it in EvE not. You can collect quite a bit here, but the majority of it usually goes into the scrap press.
In comparison, what we have in EvE as useful loot is manageable. Too much of this would also ensure that the economy no longer works.
Still, every player in EvE is a hunter-gatherer, at least the latter involuntarily.
I’ve noticed this especially now with my moves between Esoteria and Kalevala Expense.
I have the things so far in my Highsec home station temporarily stored and when moving in at the thought of what I have to take with me or what is worthwhile at all.
Although I have, felt, a useful order system but it is usually always more than less on the station.
In EvE, I’ve gotten into the habit of buying a ship based on a fitting, complete with modules, rather than checking what I already have and could theoretically save.
I think that’s basically a certain laziness you acquire when you don’t have to look at the last ISK. Exception here are the more expensive modules but even there I catch myself from time to time.
What is no longer needed, is then put in stock and thus one is again in the vicious circle. It only gets worse when you forget that you own a certain ship and then have it in the hangar several times.
But with me it is I think sometime the collecting mania especially with the ships. Nevertheless, I try to rummage here first in their own hangar.
Often, however, the rigs are the problem, so that one is really dependent on a new ship.
But there are also some things in EvE that are absolutely not useful for anything and can be collected easily.
So with the event you also accumulate more things that you just own and collect. These also offer interesting backgrounds for the lore.
Also consumer goods for the normal people are gladly once there. For us capsuleers, such things are usually pointless.
For some reason I can’t sell such stories and have to store it in some container. So a lot of it is memories from EvE’s history, like a part of Steve, the first destroying Titan in the game.
But other items like Boots.ini are also reminders of something, both positive and negative for EvE at this point.
But many things, especially the collectibles bring their own story. Of course, there are also regular items from missions that you suddenly collected too much and store for some reason.
EvE offers a lot of these small items and I think every player carries around such a container. Even if it’s just a group of Exotic Dancer and Tobacco. The important thing is to have a Pax Amarria.
Furthermore, there are more useful items that can be collected or used. So my collection of skins or clothes increases regularly.
A good source for this is also CCP with the daily bonus for the login, besides filaments and boosters also bring rows of blueprints to the capsuleer pilot.
And what can I say great here, my BPC collection is getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
I’ll be honest, I find the login bonus great, use the content rather rarely and thus the majority of boosters moldy with me, because these do not delete but according to the motto “someday it is already needed” lie in the menu.
For many smaller players it is a good way to produce something, for me they are just collectibles for now.
I feel like I collect a lot in EvE, whether it’s useful things I’ve used or things I don’t use anymore, even things that aren’t meant to be used.
There are so many items that are just there to be there.
What do you collect or have lying around uselessly? Write it in the comments.
And so that you may have even more, we raffle again a round.
This time you can win 3x Scope Syndication Skins for the Stratios and the Venture. Good luck.
