Account Financing – From A to O

A big issue for many is how the fun EvE Online is paid for.
Everyone in the EvE universe has to ask themselves this question.
Basically there are two ways.

a) Euro
b) ISK

As a rule, for me, I play here for Euros.
Basically I don’t want to have to play to be able to play my account. I don’t want a kind of compulsion to play when I want to.

This freedom is worth a lot, but of course it costs more. Depending on the account and the purchased game time, it can easily cost triple digits for a few. The last few months I was extremely lucky and could play the built up reserves of Plex. Over time, quite a bit has come together. Some time ago the former currency Aurum was converted into Plex. These I had still from div. actions CCP on some accounts distributed and could merge these. Also special offers like e.g. at Amazon have increased my Plexstand accordingly. But each stock goes accordingly once to the end. Currently there are still about 2 months of game time on stock, so the question must be pursued how it goes on. And if it goes on, how many accounts will it be.
Therefore again the consideration to set on ingame currency and to develop a plan. So said, done and I have decided for 3 active Omega Account.

So what did I think about. Basically it is relatively simple. The keyword here is skill trading and mining. Why both?

Let’s start with the latter for once. Mining is relaxing and doesn’t need much attention. Means, I can do it while doing other more important things. With one Orca and two Exhumers you can earn quite a bit of capital during the day. That’s a good basis to keep at least one account alive via Plex and to accumulate enough ISK to live on for a few months. This way I will finance an account and will certainly have enough left over to continue to stockpile ISK.

So far, of course, I do this in highsec and the returns are okay, but could be higher. Here the consideration is whether it is not worthwhile to go into the Nullspace. There to secure the plexes and then in peace there to pursue his own program. I like my current independence from a fixed program and I’m not looking for something like that. My time in EvE is too precious for that. In other words, if I find something then WITHOUT PVP duty.

This was one part of the possible way. There are two more accounts that need to be financed. Here for I have thanks to other bloggers, in this case ZeRonin. Already once a hearty thanks for the suggestion. The method used here to feed an account is called extractor farming. Here, a long-running skill is learned in a continuous loop. The attributes are designed exactly for this skill. Additional support is provided by a +5 implant. The achieved skill points are then regularly extracted from the character by the Skillextractor and sold on the market. The delta between purchase and sale is usually about the current prices for one month of game time in the form of 500 plex.

Thus, one character can finance an entire account. Of course, due to market fluctuations, there is always a slight plus or slight minus in the action. Means I put something on it or make profit. But this is so minimal that it is negligible.
Thus, I can run my other accounts themselves.
However, you can not learn other things there. Therefore, it is advisable to take “ready” accounts where nothing more in other skills is needed. Fortunately I have these accounts. Mining, Trading, Refinery and everything else can my main or he just learns it. This is not dependent on here.
Of course, a certain investment is needed here. So the account must first be brought into the omega status, because the corresponding skill requires this account status. Also, there should be some fixed employment for at least one character. To have an account on Omega that can’t do anything makes little sense. Best all should be able to do something. The whole thing takes a lot of time and depending on how you go about it, a lot of money. One should make oneself thus thoughts, which one would like to make.

Since the affected accounts already had a sense was with me only the skills for the permanent loop due and this I can achieve with 2 months skill time. So twice 3 months of playtime is enough to reach my goal with a bit of a head start. The other problem is the market. Do I get everything bought as I want. Also here the preparations are already running.

So much at least for my plan to invest as little money as possible in EvE and still be able to play some.

In what ways do you fund your accounts, if you have them at all in omega status?
