Wildfire: A reunion after almost 10 years

After I finally brought my standing for EDENCOM and the Triglavian to a fabulous 0.01 I need a new task.
I personally have a small list of things that I would like to do in EvE or would like to repeat. I think I have to set up a corresponding page here in the blog.

Therefore I have once the options queried which I have at present. At the moment I don’t have the motivation to build an Excel sheet or I’m eagerly waiting for the announced Excel addon.
So it has to be something in the game, preferably something that can be pieced together well and thus doesn’t have to be done or completed in a timely manner.

Currently, the Blood Raider event is running for Halloween, but I’ve already missed a few days and my time horizon is not really that big that I can bring it to the required 900 points by the end.
So my choice was to finally fly through all Epic Arcs on level 4 and since I had already done Minmatar mission series once, the choice was made. Additionally this one was the closest to my home station.

I realized that the last time I really flew this was almost 10 years ago. At that time still in a Tengu with five subsystems.

This time a Tengu was out of the question, it has since been toned down and I remembered having problems in one mission or another.
So another ship had to be found. So my choice was an appropriate Ishtar, with whose fitting I was already in the zero in the anomalies on the way and thus also satisfied.

So far, I’m okay and satisfied. I had to get a feeling for the ship and the missions.
Drones packed and off to Frarn where the agent has given me the first task.
I should please get him a medal, how was im no matter and from him I could also buy this for 2 ISK on the market.
For the fact that he offered me 6 million ISK as a reward for the delivery of this medal I wondered why he does not buy it himself…

I’d rather not ask why. Anything else would probably give me a real headache.
Basically, I am a lazy person and I decided to really buy the medal on the market, only it was not 2 ISK but rather 500,000 ISK.
Again, our friend seems to be a bit outdated on prices. So we bought the medal and zack handed it over and the first 6 million ISK in our pocket.

The second mission was more exciting. I was supposed to get the Hauteker Memoirs from an archive. Unfortunately, the access key on board an NPC who called reinforcements at the first damage as well as when reaching the armor.
A good fight always goes and so I could also try out my ship once.

But the problem was different, namely the small elite frigates that thought they had to weave my ship.
At first the plan worked well, at a distance in and MTU eject as well as these accordingly with active afterburners orbit.

Since I wasn’t brave enough at that point and was afraid that my drones would be the first victim, I attacked them very late and all ships were very close, I would almost say too close to me.
While the webifier of the NPC was doing its work I became quite slow and my drones had the problem to come between the remote repairers.
So it came as it had to, I had destroyed all but one, but lost speed to the point that I became an easy target for the enemy.

I managed to jump out once with just under 80% armor and repair myself accordingly at the nearest station.
Somehow I was thus also a bit pissed off and jumped back into the site with some distance to MTU.

Immediately afterwards, I also turned the remaining frigate into scrap metal. After that, it was relatively easy and my drones could gradually work off the targets in a relaxed manner.
First the cruisers and then the battleships.

And thus I could also call the second wave, which fortunately consists only of cruisers and battleships. An easy prey for my medium drones that have done a good job so far.
To experiment a bit, I also let my heavy drones have their say for the last battleships and was able to speed up the destruction of the battleships a bit.

After my work was completed I only had to collect everything and could successfully keep my Noctis busy that day.
It still seems to be worthwhile to collect the EPIC Arcs wrecks. Let’s see what the others bring with them.

Overall, though, it all went a bit too slowly for me and I suspect the use of the Amarr drones was the problem.
For the next few missions, I’m definitely switching to Hammerhead and Ogre drones from the Gallente.

Or I might even try a completely different ship, but so far I have no ideas without having to spend several billion ISK.

The days go on and I try to describe here the one or other mission simply what.

  1. Hallo Sendriss,

      Also kein Faction-Standing.
Dann passt es doch, ich versuche natürlich beim nächsten Event im Winter was zu rocken.

      Gruß
