Or the general question of what is scum anyway?
I think it’s a question of perspective and would generally claim first of all any gaming group that disturbs you in what you do or do something that you do not consider okay?
Therefore, there is no clear answer here but always a very individual view?
Is someone scum who shoots me as a poor defenseless miner out of the belt and thus gets an easy kill?
Or am I scum from his point of view because I don’t fight back and am a carebear in his eyes?
All that can be, but when I think of scum in the EvE universe, I think of two groups in particular:
- Suicide Ganker
For many, they are scum first, because from their own point of view, this is primarily about spoiling the gaming experience.
Basically, I agree with that first of all, because here is a very destructive and game fun-taking activity.
On the other hand, I admire the patience, planning and ideas with which these groups of players go about their work.
I find suicide ganking a very interesting activity and I think that many people blame this group for the loss of a ship.
There is no insight in oneself. You did everything right but the evil ganker just destroyed my ship.
I think many people don’t question their own behavior at this point and I have to admit that this is fun.
I have to admit that it is just fun, requires patience and must be well planned.
I ran it myself for a while but then lost patience. Still, if done sensibly, it was worthwhile and fun.
It was quite a thrill when you have spotted his victim and already once looking forward to what gives you the Lootfee so far.
The problem is the patience to find someone suitable and if then to catch them correctly, so that you can pick up the loot.
Den hierbei is indeed the own skill in demand, but more important is the inattention and the sense of security and misconduct of others.
In this story there are always two parties. One that shoots and one that does not pay attention.
EvE is revengeful, but does not protect.
I think I’ll put on a suitable alt again and look for my luck.
