When choosing the topics, we currently always alternate, that is, either Jezaja, eXeler0n or I chooses a topic. This month eXeler0n has chosen a topic again and in my eyes a very exciting one. For this I must first banish a few years EvE from my profit…..
Basically I have to emphasize at this point that I have always preferred an MMORPG in a sandbox environment to a theme park. The latter kept me entertained for a particularly long time and were mostly short-term experiences for me and nothing really lasting. When I’ve been in a sandbox, I’ve stayed for a long time, whether it’s Star Wars Galaxies, which has been revived by a few projects and is therefore quite enticing, or EvE Online.
In addition to that, I like to spend time in science fiction, so EvE is also made for me. So we’ve already collected a few points that would make me want to start today.
The introduction is also well designed, even if there is some potential for improvement. Here I like to refer to my entry on this topic.
The second question would be, and this is the more interesting question, would anything change in my play style or would I do everything the same? First of all, as far as the character itself is concerned, I would do some things differently. At the beginning of the EvE career, some attributes depended on the choice of the Bloodline, this has not been the case for some time. Otherwise, I would also rely on the optical again with the faction and let’s be honest. Again, the Amarr have the best impression with their gold. On the basis of my knowledge I can and may not decide here. But I would build a character here that gives me more possible than Sendriss currently has.
The attraction to experience so much and to be able to do so much is clearly higher here. But the biggest difference would be that I would probably spend most of my time in an alpha account and would not have an omega or in the current case several omega accounts. The time I had from 12 years, I no longer have to actively play EvE so EvE for me now would not be a main game and but something that runs on the side and sometimes like to play through for a change.
Thus, I would also quickly realize that a faction with significantly more options in the damage selection suits me better and I would thus very quickly create another character on the account and then go to Missiles and out me as Caldari.
I like online games like this where I have to dig in and give myself time to learn. The prerequisites are completely different and I would use them accordingly. At the end of the day, I’d be there today too and I’d start EvE again. I think there are currently few games that expect work from you and that you can not just consume.
