Is more always better?

Hello Together,

The year is going on with steady steps towards its end and the Christmas season is coming.
EvE is actually a hobby that takes a lot of time when we do it seriously.

As you can see in the last blog entries, I don’t have enough time for EvE. At the moment I prefer to spend my time not in the EvE universe but comfortably on the couch. Nevertheless I try to put at least some thoughts on paper. So I’m preparing some articles that don’t necessarily need my presence in the game. It’s more about the weird thoughts I have in my head. I continue to follow the Epic-Arcs, very relaxed but constantly trying to complete mission after mission.

Since I have vacation between the holidays, I’m sure I’ll tackle some of them again. In the meantime I log in at least once a day to at least get the login rewards. Although I would like to fly the events, but personally I would be disappointed if I do not manage to collect all the rewards. So I rather limit myself to what I can do. Logging into the game or writing a post or two.

One of them you can see here.

CCP has now rolled out a new “beta test” in the game. The optional way to customize the interface, after the PhotonUI, is the Multi-Overview. We all know it so far, that there is a target list with all possible entities and we can jump between different tabs and thus display only what we need. However, only one filter at a time.

Thanks to this new test feature, we can separate the individual tabs into their own overviews and display several of them with different filters in the game. Finally we can completely glue our view. First of all, so far a good idea, because we as a player can directly see several pieces of information without them being in an overview and thus also visually separated. We don’t need to filter in our head anymore.

I think it makes sense to use this as well. So I can imagine as a miner that I can show here on different overviews the individual asteroids and then specifically between these also switch. Thus Veldspar on one and Scordite on another and have everything directly in view. I also see some good application possibilities for the PVE part. While my primary overview serves to have the different NPC as selection I can see on a secondary if necessary structures or Loot in the current area or if necessary planets and other emergency information. What is certainly also interesting, each filter for the different sizes of ships to have so at a quick glance the frigates.

So I have here clearly the possibility to concentrate on what I need but still see what I could also need as information.

Not a bad idea when you see that multiple tabs are possible on both. In general, I think Overview is a very interesting tool for information gathering. There are already lots of individually created Overviews, i.e. prepared filters and tabs you can use.

Currently I still use the settings from Barkkor, which are actually quite good, but unfortunately are not kept up to date for a while. Also we don’t like this colorful structure anymore. Therefore I try to find something new or think about building something myself. The settings can be easily imported or exported.

I think I’m busy again what more with this topic.

With that I wish you a Merry Christmas and enjoy the time.
At the end of the year there is again a larger raffle of partner skins, because I still have some in stock.

Remember, every month you can win alone by comments which with me.

  1. Hallo Sendriss,
