Everything is going well… just not optimally, or is it?

My journey in Pochven continues with the goal of finally collecting Standing. We remember that we are looking for some drones that do not shoot at us after we expose ourselves. Or are distracted somehow else, because also the NPC among themselves constantly fights and that no matter where these meet. It’s illogical that you can’t tell from the outside that two different trig fleets belong to different factions, but if they shoot at each other, that’s fine with me. In this case I don’t even care, since this combination offers no advantage for me….

We need drones and we need some of them. Rule is, do something ouch in the form of weapons or ECM and get out of there.

We can also find some at suns, planets etc and tackle them. As I said the main focus is to keep my paper boat. Jumping through the systems I did see a few player fleets, but they didn’t really feel interested in me. Stealth bombers are not that easy to get and they were clearly after other targets.

While searching, I then jetted in a system in the direction of the sun and was first frightened… Lots of blue wrecks and my fingers took control and despite activated cloaking I left the place quickly. Only then did my brain start working…. Wait a minute… The wrecks didn’t look like players but other NPC and thus it clicked. I apparently jumped into the vicinity of an active battle. So with maximum safety distance back and examine the scenery first. I could see several drones which have taken possession of a Nyx and were visible in the overview as Capital, so a little smaller than players.

Something told me to watch the whole thing a little longer and it was rewarded. With several warp exits a Triglavian fleet jumped on the existing drone fleet and started to work on the first Nyx… and that without any resistance… Heck it was apparently a Braindead fleet. So I let the trigs have their fun and watch some more. After a short while the first drone and the combined fire of the enemy fleet went down in a wonderful explosion and the other drones woke up. Thus there was then an interesting fight and my brain worked on high speed…. To take advantage or still wait? I was still some kilometers away and could not use my torpedoes. Then I saw a small Heron which also observed the spectacle on very large range. From time to time it disappeared and reappeared from the warp. I assume once that this was switched on at that time. The pilot, of course, had no idea of the danger hovering nearby. Proximity is good since we were almost 600km apart. Then there was a short warp jump I could see the plan of the Heron. She jumped to destroyed Nyx and got both the salvage and the good loot. After that it went back to lurking position. In the meantime, one or the other drone or trig jumped, so the fight lasted a bit longer.

At some point I didn’t want to be just passive but active. So I picked a victim drone and my goal was to do some damage. So I approached it at 70km and deactivated the stealth, unlocked the target and opened fire…. oops… the drones are probably very fast and are thus already again on over 80km away and I realized that it brings nothing.

So I turned off and put on the cloak and went into warp. I realized very quickly that the torpedoes were a stupid idea. They had flight time and I was just too nervous…. A better idea would be the built-in target painter… so much for being screwed up. But I think the Heron got the shock of your life and wasn’t on site that quickly.

I could have approached the Heron first and chased it away successfully. Well, too late in this situation. So it went again a few systems further until I hit this next station and docked here successfully. I definitely leave the Manticore there for now. Then I try the Jump Clones once and will do something else for now. My will was there. The flesh was weak.

In the meantime a few days had passed since my trip and I wanted to get back on the road to collect some standing. Thereby I noticed that it worked after all. Sendriss has reached a standing of 0.01(!) at Edencom as well as at the Triglavian. I was surprised and happy, yet I flew off more suns and planets in search of 0.02. I could find a battle between the Drifter and the Caldari State, but that was it. My screenshots are also from this battle, because I didn’t think about it the other day in the heat of the moment.

But I clearly reached my goal and I think I will make one or two more trips to Pochven. In general, I imagined the area to be much more lively for players. But it is not without danger there.

  1. Hallo Sendriss,
