All a matter of drone choice?

So besides my considerations to change to another ship, there is of course also the possibility to give my Ishtar a new chance. And for this I have chosen the most difficult mission so far in the first chapter. In this mission the enemy gets reinforcements every 1-2 minutes. So there is a lot of potential to drive the own drones against the wall.

So it goes off again and nice to a certain distance in the site and as usual first thrown out the MTU ala anchor point and started this with afterburner on 30km circled At least the NPC have me this time voluntarily unlocked and I do not need my adjustment. So theoretically there is nothing against starting and then I remembered that the probability is relatively high that the friendly NPC will ask them directly to play.
So first consider whether we wait or go directly? The NPCs that have arrived so far naturally use the time to approach while I could do nothing against them. So at least I waited until they were close enough not to give the Hammerheads too much flying time.

And what can I say, it was a complete success… For the NPC. As soon as the drones were close to the enemies, they only flashed yellow and not red as I wanted. At least the elite frigates liked my drones more than me. And I had the expected problem and at the same time a not expected problem. These ships changed the target and want my Hammerheads very much.

So I had no choice but to call them back and hope that they were clearly faster. Fortunately, it worked out relatively well here. It was confirmed for the first time that neither a Webber nor a Scrambler were there. Still, one didn’t make it and dissolved into space dust. The second attempt was fortunately better and the drone made it into the bay with just under 10% hull….

It can’t go on like this and my Ogre had even more problems. So it’s back to rebuilding or quickly getting another ship. Since I don’t feel like the latter, the former will have to do. And the only alternative I can think of is to swap the drones. So some medium and heavy ones out and the light hobs in. Faster, smaller and possibly even no trigger for the NPC.

So just quickly got some and back into the fray. And what can I say, the NPCs went after the drones, but you hardly managed a hit. Nevertheless I had to change the drone twice, because the opponent landed a few lucky hits. But that was no problem with my reserve. The Hobs quickly made small pieces of wood out of the frigates and cruisers. I am really positively surprised about these small beasts and would not have expected this.

With the larger ships it took simply too long and have also no longer expected that the larger ships are interested in my drones, I have accordingly strengthened the arsenal times. Thus, my Ogres have attacked the remaining battleships and eliminated.

II think I have gained new confidence and probably made the wrong tactical choice for the time being.
With the last two missions going from a) to b), the first chapter of the Minmatar Epic Arc is done and I continue to work with my Ishtar.

  1. Hallo Sendriss,

    Fly Clever

    1. kleine Ergänzung: Warum nutzt du eigentlich Hobgoblin/Hammerhead/Ogre gegen Angelgegner?
